Trend Report: Holiday Gold

November 17, 2010 § 1 Comment

To make an entrance at cocktail parties this season, simply dress in an instantly classic and ultra rich shade–gold. With its value on the rise, both in finance and in fashion, indulging in its universally flattering glow is a must.

For celebs like Jessica Alba and J.Lo it’s all that glitters. These ladies are skipping out on the LBD’s and hitting this season’s hottest parties in sparkly frocks glistening minis. Curve-hugging frocks, plunging necklines, and bustiers are all the rave too, preferably in gold, of course.

While designers like Jason Wu and Peter Som added flourishes of metallic foil printing to their dresses, others like Marco Zanini went for head-to-toe brocade shimmer at Rochas.

And while 24-karat bangles and other trinkets have long been on jewelry-box standby, the classic metallic is currently enjoying a fashion “moment”, if you will (although something tells me it’ll be here for a while).

Luckily, as the fever spreads rapidly on runways and in stores near you, there’s no digging needed to strike it rich in this timeless trend. ;)

Here’s a few more items I came across and styled for you…
